Janel Skelley joined The Headstrong Project team in June 2024 as Chief Financial Officer. She brings over 18 years of experience in the nonprofit sector as the CFO for the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, a non-profit organization committed to improving the economic future and quality of life for the Pittsburgh region. In this role, Janel managed the accounting, human resources, and information technology departments including facilities management. She has experience in other sectors including private equity and real estate. Her career began in 1995 as an auditor with Ernst & Young in Pittsburgh, PA.
Janel graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and is a Certified Public Accountant. She currently serves on the Pittsburgh Women’s Alliance board of directors, is the secretary and treasurer of the Power of 32 Site Development Fund, LLC and of the Strategic Investment Fund, Inc. She previously served on the board of Mars National Bank, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. Janel currently resides in Bradford Woods, PA with her husband Jason, daughter Bryn and golden retriever Sadie.
