Albert Rabil, III, is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and CEO of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors’ real estate private equity business, where he oversees the origination, execution and management of private investments in specialized niche real estate sectors, principally off-campus student housing.
Al began his career in the Real Estate Finance Group of the Bankers Trust Company, where he was employed between 1988 and 1993. In 1994, he joined the Real Estate Banking Group of UBS, and later became Managing Director and Head of the Real Estate Banking Group for the Americas and Europe until early 2002. During his tenure, Al played a key role in making UBS a market leader in both syndicated debt and large loan CMBS, consummating more than $25 billion in transactions. Between 2002 and 2007, he founded and was a Principal of two real estate investment firms, RAMZ, LLC and Rabil Properties, LLC. During this time Al developed and acquired more than $250 million of off-campus student housing.
In addition to his business activities, Al is actively involved in numerous charitable ventures and he is one of the founding members of Headstrong.
Al earned a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Yale University in 1985 and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in 1988.
