Shelby Stone is a Senior Manager of Strategy at General Dynamics, where she leads talent and organizational strategy initiatives within a complex, highly regulated defense environment. In her current role, she focuses on leadership development, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness, supporting enterprise-level transformation and long-term capability building.
Prior to this role, Stone served as Manager of Planning and Development at General Dynamics, contributing to strategic planning and internal development initiatives across business units.
Stone previously spent over five years at The Cohen Group, where she rose to Associate Vice President and led the firm’s Defense Practice. In this capacity, she advised senior executives on defense strategy, geopolitical trends, and stakeholder engagement, while managing key client relationships and aligning cross-functional strategic initiatives.
She is an alumna of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Women’s Global Leadership Program, a selective executive development initiative focused on advancing women in international policy and leadership roles.
Stone holds a Master’s degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University, where she was a merit scholarship recipient and conducted research on nuclear dynamics in South Asia. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from The College of Wooster, where she received multiple distinctions for academic excellence, leadership, and athletics.
