Kenny Polcari is Partner and Chief Market Strategist at SlateStone Wealth, a boutique wealth advisory firm with $2 billion in client assets under management. In this role, he provides market and economic analysis, interprets the ever-changing financial landscape, and helps translate those dynamics into investment and planning strategies for clients. As a member of the firm’s 11-person Investment Committee, he also works closely with advisors to design bespoke portfolios tailored to the needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families.
With more than 40 years of experience as a member of the New York Stock Exchange, Kenny is a seasoned and recognizable voice on the markets. He has guided institutional investors through decades of market evolution and appeared regularly as a market analyst on Fox Business, CNBC, and a range of other outlets. Today, he hosts the weekly Trader Talk with Kenny Polcari podcast on Yahoo Finance and continues to reach a wide audience through his daily market commentary, Morning Thoughts—a distinctive blend of insight, perspective, and storytelling that always ends with a “recipe of the day.”
A passionate cook and entertainer, Kenny has built a brand around combining his deep financial knowledge with his love of food, offering readers and listeners both “food for thought” and “something for dinner.”
Earlier in his career, Kenny built the U.S. equities business at ICAP, then the world’s largest inter-dealer broker, pioneering direct connections with institutional money managers and helping bring greater transparency and accessibility to the marketplace. Before that, he ran Salomon Brothers’ NYSE division during the 1990s bull market and was part of the team that launched the first electronic order delivery system in the industry.
Kenny began his career on the floor of the NYSE in 1985 and lived through every major market event of the last four decades—experiences that give him a rare perspective on both the resilience and evolution of global markets. He served as a NYSE Governor for more than a decade, representing institutional asset managers, and remains an active member of the financial community. A strong supporter of veterans’ causes, his commitment to service was deeply shaped by his personal experience on 9/11.
He met his wife—herself a former NYSE member—on the trading floor, and together they have raised two daughters.
