Austin Courtney Stiffler is a communications leader with a passion for serving America’s military and veteran community. Austin brings her commitment to mission-driven causes to The Headstrong Project as Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining the Headstrong team, Austin spent seven years leading Communications for the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, a national nonprofit established by Senator Elizabeth Dole that supports “Hidden Heroes,” America’s military and veteran caregivers. Austin started her communications career as a Public Relations Account Associate at the Washington, D.C.-based agency, Susan Davis International, where she gained experience in strategic communications, public affairs, event planning, and crisis communications.
A native of Clifton, Virginia, Austin graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Media Studies and a minor in Religious Studies. She serves on the Board of the River Ellis Foundation, a Hampton Roads-based organization that provides rapid financial relief to local residents encountering unexpected hardship. In her free time, Austin enjoys cheering on the Hoos, traveling, and beach days with her husband and their Golden Retriever.
