Prior to joining Headstrong, Amanda served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Strategic Improvement at the Florida Department of Education. In this leadership role she provided support and guidance in an array of areas including Federal Educational Programs, Family and Community Outreach, Exceptional Education and Student Services, School Improvement, Student Achievement through Language Acquisition and Equal Educational Opportunity. Amanda led the Strategic Improvement team in the development of a universal system that included a consolidated program application, risk assessment and tiered monitoring support structure for several grant programs.
Prior to her work at the Florida Department of Education, she provided statutory required training to state agencies on contract and grant management. Amanda also served as an educator for eleven years while earning her Master’s in Educational Leadership.
Amanda has been married to her husband Jimmy for 17 years. They have three children: JW, Charlie and Lena. When Amanda is away from work you can most likely find her at a baseball field anywhere from Florida to North Dakota watching her kids play ball. Amanda also enjoys shopping, traveling and entertaining friends and family at her home in Tallahassee, Florida.
