Prior to Headstrong, Alicia served as the Director of Development and Operations for Code Platoon, a nonprofit coding bootcamp headquartered in Chicago. In this role, she worked closely with the Executive Director to manage the daily operations of the organization including: strategic planning, budget oversight and forecasting, yearly audits, corporate relations, regulatory approvals and compliance, and student services including admissions, enrollment, and career services. She secured multiple six figure grant awards from organizations including Boeing and Cognizant. Her leadership resulted in exponential program growth, allowing Code
Platoon to serve over 270 Veterans, Active Duty, and Military Spouses under her leadership.
Alicia is a graduate of Concordia University, Chicago, where she earned a M.A in Grant Writing and Nonprofit Management. She also earned a B.A. in English from The Ohio State University.
Alicia is the proud daughter of two Navy Veterans and step-daughter to the District Commodore D8CR in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
